WORK ON THE POETICS OF CONTRAST WITH STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY
Abstracts

Introduction. This article is devoted to the methodology of working on antithesis and oxymoron, the main methods of implementing the principle of contrast in poetic texts, with students at the University.

The relevance of the article is due to the lack of attention of scientists to the methodological aspect associated with the study of stylistic techniques, and the great demand for such material in the classroom on stylistics, rhetoric, linguopoetics, linguistic analysis of the text and other disciplines at the University.

The purpose of the article is to present the methodology of working with close, but not identical terms, which are antithesis and oxymoron, for the formation of students' ability to find them in the texts, to determine the functions of poetic contrast techniques and thereby contribute to a deeper and more conscious reading of texts.

Materials and methods. The material for the study was the poetic texts of Russian writers of the XIX and the first half of the XX centuries, as well as the definitions of antithesis and oxymoron, presented in the dictionaries of linguistic terms. At the first stage of the work, the General scientific method of observation over the definitions of the analyzed terms

 

and the actual material extracted from literary texts was used. At the next stage of the work the methods of the descriptive method were used: analysis of the collected material, classification, comparison, conclusions.

Results. The stages of work on the main methods of realization of the principle of contrast in poetic texts are defined, the rich factual material extracted from literary texts, which can be used in the classroom, is collected and analyzed.

Discussion. The importance of formation of students ' ability to differentiate close, but not identical methods of realization of the principle of contrast is emphasized.

Conclusion. It is concluded that the work with antithesis and oxymoron with University students contributes to the consolidation and accumulation of terminological potential, the development of the ability to consciously perceive the artistic text, linking the content of the work with its form.
